about

The epic at the middle of the album. Over 7 1/2 minutes of weird, jazzy, neo-pseudo-psychedelic goodness. I've been playing this song for years, and it was great to give it the full sound it's always deserved. I went for the essential rock tracking: rhythm guitar (baritone), bass, lead guitar (baritone), and drums. Adding the "ozzy" effect, just a hint, on the vocals on the chorus was a delightfully fun inspiration; as well the panning effect on the chorus vocals - which, the first time I listened to it, and when I would listen to it with the volume up loud enough, actually made me somewhat dizzy and disoriented. Success!

This is the first track in which Doug McLaughlin appears on drums; everything else - electric baritone, and acoustic bass - is me.

Matt Miller, Baritone Guitarist & Singer/Songwriter Flagstaff, Arizona

Baritone guitar is tuned between a guitar and a bass (B E A D F# B). Extremely versatile, full, and very funky. Given its excellent qualities, it is surprisingly uncommon.

I "live loop", which lets me improvise on alto sax, flute, and guitar. Strong jazz and funk influences, but truly a wide variety. Even shit-kicking country at times. The Muse, she speaks; I hear.
